The area is home to a variety of shopping opportunities. Sobey's has recently redeveloped the store at Shelburne Mall into a large, modern facility and the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission has done likewise. Several other stores and shops populate the mall, including discount retail, drug store, office supplies and gifts, plus food service.

Downtown Shelburne sports two full-service lumber and hardware stores, both of which also sell housewares. Furniture stores, drug stores, gift stores and a bookstore are also located in Shelburne.
